Vietnamese Minister of Construction received the Algerian Minister of Mujahideen and Rights Holders
On July 26, in Hanoi, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi welcomed Algerian Minister of Mujahideen and Dependents Laïd Rebigua at the headquarters of the Ministry of Construction.

During the meeting, Algerian Minister of Mujahideen and Dependents Laïd Rebigua offered his condolences and expressed deep regret over the death of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, a leader who held a great position in the hearts of the Vietnamese people and the Algerian people. Also recently, the Minister of Mujahideen and the Algerian delegation visited Vietnam to attend the state funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
Thanking Algeria for the good feelings towards General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Vietnam, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi stressed that the death of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong - a communist soldier and also one of the most respected leaders of Vietnam - is a great loss for the Party and State of Vietnam.
The government and people of Vietnam thank the Algerian government and people for sending a delegation to attend the state funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. The Algerian delegation extended condolences and encouraged Vietnam in this painful and difficult time, expressing the deep attachment between the two countries.

Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi said that Vietnam and Algeria have good traditional relations, cooperating in many fields such as trade, diplomacy, agriculture, industry, construction... The cooperative relations between the two sides are clearly expressed through the mechanism of the Algerian-Vietnamese Joint Commission. So far, the two countries have held 12 sessions with many cooperation contents of mutual interest.
At the 12th session held in Hanoi in October 2023, the two sides actively exchanged and agreed on 15 memoranda of understanding; agreed to increase regular exchanges of delegations to improve mutual understanding. Currently, the two sides have held bilateral meetings and meetings such as the meeting with Vinfast; or signed a cooperation agreement between SAIDAL Group and RADINER Institute for Research and Treatment of Serious Diseases.
In addition, the two countries are also strengthening cooperation between local governments. In particular, Dien Bien province in Vietnam and Bat-na province in Algeria signed a twinning and cooperation agreement, exchanging experiences and promoting the implementation of projects.

In the coming years, as Chairman of the Vietnam-Algeria Joint Committee, the Ministry of Construction will continue to closely follow up and promote cooperation with Algeria in all fields signed by the two sides, thus effectively implementing the minutes of the 12th session, thus contributing to promoting good relations between the two countries.
Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi also expressed his hope that the Algerian side would create conditions to strengthen cooperation and share experiences, especially in the field of housing...
Sharing the opinion of Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Minister Laid Rebigua said that Algeria and Vietnam have long-standing and solid cooperative relations, demonstrated by joint projects, agreements and treaties. To date, 21 agreements have been signed between the two countries. The Algerian side has recently encouraged many bilateral visits to strengthen cooperation in the fields of energy, law, etc.

Minister Laïd Rebigua hopes that the two sides will jointly promote intergovernmental projects between Vietnam and Algeria; further discuss trade and investment, and encourage Vietnamese companies to invest in the Algerian commercial market.
For his part, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi affirmed that Vietnam is always interested and will focus on promoting deeper cooperation with Algeria. At the same time, he asked both sides to make efforts and determination to effectively implement the commitments they have made, thus bringing the relations between the two countries to a new level.
